Founder-in-Residence, Finance Workflow Automation

Full Time Competitive Salary United States

Overview

Full-Time | Birmingham, AL (Remote/Hybrid Option)

Harmony Venture Labs is a Birmingham-based venture studio that builds and launches valuable companies with real-world impact. We bring together product thinkers, operators, and domain experts to turn validated opportunities into high-scale startups. We’re hiring a Founder-in-Residence for a new AI-powered workflow automation venture supporting small-to-midsize finance teams. HVL has already completed deep discovery, problem validation, prototyping, and early go-to-market experiments. You’ll take this foundation and scale it into a real company — accelerating traction, refining the product, driving revenue signals, and preparing the venture for launch. This is a hands-on, zero-to-one builder role where you inherit meaningful early insights and momentum, then expand them with speed, focus, and conviction.

What You’ll Do

You’ll work closely with the HVL team to:

  • Build deep context on the problem space, customer pain points, and validation insights developed to date.
  • Step into active customer conversations — outreach, interviews, demos, and follow-ups — to accelerate early traction.
  • Guide the prototype from “validated direction” to “market-ready,” identifying the highest-value improvements and shaping the product roadmap.
  • Design and run early GTM experiments across messaging, pricing, onboarding, activation, and distribution.
  • Convert early signals into pipeline momentum and first paying users.
  • Shape the narrative and materials needed for early fundraising and market positioning.
  • Establish patterns, processes, and directional clarity that future hires can build on.
  • Prioritize relentlessly, focusing on the milestone that moves the venture meaningfully forward each week.
  • Lay the groundwork for a future founding team by documenting learnings, processes, and insights.

Who You Are

  • A repeat founder or early-stage operator who has built something from zero before — ideally in SaaS or workflow automation.
  • Skilled at taking early validation and turning it into traction, revenue signals, and launch readiness.
  • Strong in one early-stage discipline (product, engineering, GTM, sales, or growth) and capable of operating cross-functionally across the rest.
  • Eager to build within an AI-first environment and experiment with emerging technologies that eliminate manual workflows.
  • Experienced in finance operations, accounting systems, back-office software, or similar domains is a bonus — but not required.
  • Thrives in ambiguity, moves with urgency, and adjusts quickly as new information emerges.
  • Resilient, gritty, and accountable — you create momentum even when the path is unclear.
  • Low-ego and highly collaborative. You believe in learning fast, working directly with customers, and iterating your way to clarity.
  • Naturally builds relationships, establishes trust, and communicates clearly with customers, partners, and early investors.
  • Based in Birmingham, AL, or open to frequent travel to collaborate closely with the studio team.

What We Offer

  • A true founder role with early validation, insights, prototype direction, and GTM groundwork already in place.
  • Hands-on support from HVL’s product, research, engineering, and GTM experts to accelerate the 0→1 journey.
  • Monthly stipend during pre-launch.
  • Upon company launch, this role converts into a co-founder position with equity, early users, and pre-seed momentum.

Our Values

  • We default to action.
  • We act with humility.
  • We are curious.
  • We are results-oriented.

AI Marketing Coordinator

Full Time Competitive Salary United States

At Harmony Venture Labs, we build and grow valuable companies that create a positive economic impact in the lives of our teams, partners, and communities. Thoughtful experimentation and early traction are critical to launching great companies. As a venture studio, we operate through two main pillars: Corporate Innovation, where we partner with established companies to launch new ventures, and our Studio, where we rapidly test and scale internal concepts.

The Role

We’re seeking an AI Marketing Coordinator to accelerate growth across both our internal ventures and corporate innovation partnerships. This is a hands-on role for an entry-level marketer who blends creative intuition with analytical rigor—and uses AI tools as a force multiplier for growth. You’ll help turn early-stage ideas into validated market traction by using AI to move faster, test smarter, and learn continuously. The ideal candidate is curious, adaptable, and excited to work across a portfolio of emerging products, industries, and business models.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead AI-powered growth experiments: Design and execute scrappy, data-driven campaigns that test traction hypotheses and uncover scalable acquisition loops.
  • Operationalize content systems: Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude Code, OpusClip, Runway, Synthesia, Notion AI, etc.) to create and distribute high-quality content at scale—videos, reels, carousels, landing pages, and newsletters.
  • Automate and personalize funnels: Use automation tools (Zapier, Lindy, Lovable, etc.) to build and optimize workflows that increase conversion and retention.
  • Run demand tests for new ventures: Support HVL’s corporate innovation cycles by conducting market research, validating messaging, and testing paid and organic channels for new products.
  • Conduct lightweight user research: Speak with early users and customers to identify pain points, uncover opportunities, and translate insights into actionable GTM experiments.
  • Measure what matters: Track meaningful metrics—signups, activations, demo requests, retention, cost per learn—not vanity metrics.

Who You Are

You’ll thrive in this role if you:

  • Have some growth, marketing, or startup experience, ideally in an early-stage, B2B, or venture studio environment.
  • Are knowledgeable about AI and no-code tools, and love experimenting with new ones to accelerate your workflow.
  • Think in systems—able to design acquisition, activation, and retention loops using automation and experimentation.
  • Understand content-first growth, including short-form video, thought leadership, and social amplification.
  • Have a bias for action—you’d rather test and learn than debate and delay.
  • Are a curious learner who actively seeks new knowledge across marketing, data, and AI ecosystems.
  • Are a strong communicator who can synthesize insights clearly and work cross-functionally with designers, engineers, and founders.
  • Are comfortable with ambiguity and thrive in environments where speed, curiosity, and results matter more than perfection.

  • A “self-starter” mindset—comfortable learning new skills quickly and contributing ideas.

  • A bias toward action and experimentation—willing to try, learn, and adapt.

What You’ll Gain

  • Real-world experience working inside a venture studio launching SaaS startups.

  • Hands-on learning with growth frameworks, user research, and no-code tools.
