Overview
Harmony Venture Labs (HVL) is a Birmingham, AL-based venture studio that builds and grows valuable companies that create a positive economic impact in the lives of our teams, partners, and communities. We’re home to high-energy, innovative thinkers who share a mission to solve big problems and build great ventures.
We are looking for a dynamic, resourceful, and hardworking Chief of Staff to join our leadership team and work closely with our CEO. As Chief of Staff, you’ll be at the center of HVL’s work, providing constant leverage to the CEO, driving leadership priorities forward, and making sure the organization stays aligned and effective. You’ll run HVL’s operating rhythms, keep stakeholders connected, and handle the details that make big initiatives possible. This is the ideal role for a strong communicator and detail-oriented operator who’s energized by variety and challenge. You stay steady under pressure, find energy in complexity, and bring the clarity and drive that move important work forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leverage for the CEO. Filter and prioritize demands, anticipate needs, remove obstacles, and move priorities forward with clarity and speed. Partner closely with the CEO’s Executive Assistant to align the CEO’s time with priorities.
- Work alongside the CEO and other leaders to set priorities, keep projects moving, and make sure the organization stays aligned as a core member of the leadership team.
- Own HVL’s operating rhythms. Lead leadership meetings, All Hands, quarterly reviews, retreats, and summits. Handle agendas, logistics, notes, and follow-up to ensure the team stays aligned and effective.
- Lead internal operations and processes, including onboarding of new employees, performance reviews, recruiting efforts, and expense management.
- Manage fund operations and investor communications. Prepare reports and updates, organize advisory board meetings, and maintain ongoing communication with LPs and advisors.
- Support corporate innovation partnerships. Keep projects on track by coordinating across teams, ensuring deliverables are met, and contributing as a thought partner.
- Lead communications inside and outside HVL. Write updates to investors and partners, prepare client follow-ups, and create clear, compelling materials, including decks and briefs.
- Strengthen HVL’s culture by supporting team rituals and helping build an environment of trust, accountability, and follow-through.
Who You Are
- You thrive in fast-moving, high-stakes environments and bring steady energy, judgment, and clarity to the team. You create clarity in ambiguity and move work forward.
- You are adaptable, open to feedback, and eager to grow.
- You are exceptionally organized and detail-oriented, yet flexible. You can switch contexts rapidly without losing focus, and you enjoy keeping many moving parts aligned.
- You are a constant notetaker. You capture conversations, decisions, and action items in real time and translate them into clear next steps for yourself and others.
- You are a strong communicator. You write clearly and concisely, create polished materials that make ideas easy to understand, and speak with confidence in meetings with executives, partners, and team members.
- You are a culture builder. You help create trust across the team, mediate when needed, and hold others accountable without creating friction.
- You are personable, approachable, and easy to work with. You build respect through trust, discretion, and consistent follow-through, not by chasing politics or status.
- You are curious about technology, startups, and new ventures. You learn quickly, adopt new tools with ease, and use technology to simplify work.
- You value good taste in writing, design, and communication. You know when something needs to be great and when “good enough” keeps momentum moving.
- You are motivated by execution and results. You work hard because you want to see important initiatives completed and impactful ideas brought to life.
- You have a track record of delivering excellent work and earning trust in prior roles.
- Experience in startups or venture is a plus.
What Success Looks Like
- You provide constant leverage to the CEO. You act as a trusted right hand and thought partner, working side by side to move priorities forward, anticipate needs, and drive progress.
- You’re the backbone of HVL’s leadership team, keeping priorities clear and projects moving so the CEO and leaders can focus on what matters most.
- You run HVL’s operating rhythms with discipline and clarity, turning meetings, reviews, and retreats into real progress.
- Stakeholders are consistently aligned. Investors, partners, and the team trust HVL’s communication, know what to expect, and feel confident in the path forward. You raise the standard of communication across HVL, producing updates and materials that are clear, polished, and trusted.
- You bring calm, clarity, and momentum to fast-moving work and are seen as a trusted, go-to partner across the organization. The whole team’s capacity and focus increase because of your presence and support.
Our Values
We default to action.
We act with humility.
We are curious.
We are results-oriented.

Full Time • Competitive Salary • United States
At Harmony Venture Labs (HVL), we build and grow valuable companies that create a positive economic impact in the lives of our teams, partners, and communities. Early-stage traction and thoughtful experimentation are critical to launching great companies. As a venture studio, we operate through two main pillars: Corporate Innovation, where we partner with established companies to launch new ventures, and our internal Studio, where we rapidly test and grow innovative concepts.
The Role
We’re seeking a Growth Marketing Intern to join our team and support the launch and growth of new B2B SaaS ventures. This is an ideal opportunity for someone eager to gain hands-on experience in marketing, learn how startups grow from 0–1, and develop the skills needed to build traction in fast-paced environments. The perfect candidate is curious, motivated, and ready to learn by doing. You’ll work alongside experienced marketers, product managers, and founders—helping shape campaigns, test new ideas, and learn the fundamentals of early-stage growth.
What You’ll Do
-
Support growth campaigns: help launch content-driven funnels, outbound workflows, landing pages, and partner collaborations.
-
Create and publish content: draft copy for social posts, landing pages, and email campaigns; assist in producing short-form videos and graphics.
-
Engage with users: support surveys, outreach, and interviews to understand customer needs and pain points.
-
Track growth metrics: assist in gathering and reporting data on signups, activations, demo requests, and engagement.
-
Experiment with tools: get hands-on with marketing and no-code tools (e.g., Typeform, Webflow, Zapier, Airtable) to set up campaigns and workflows.
-
Learn AI-forward marketing: use AI tools to brainstorm, automate, and scale growth experiments.
Who You Are
We don’t expect you to have years of experience—but we are looking for someone with:
-
Interest in B2B SaaS and how software companies grow.
-
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
-
Curiosity about marketing experiments, funnels, and user research.
-
Basic familiarity (or excitement to learn) tools like Canva, Typeform, Notion, GA4, or social media platforms.
-
A “self-starter” mindset—comfortable learning new skills quickly and contributing ideas.
-
A bias toward action and experimentation—willing to try, learn, and adapt.
What You’ll Gain
-
Real-world experience working inside a venture studio launching SaaS startups.
-
Hands-on learning with growth frameworks, user research, and no-code tools.
-
Exposure to early-stage product launches and the metrics that matter.
-
Mentorship from experienced growth marketers, product managers, and founders.
-
A portfolio of projects you can showcase for future roles in marketing or startups.
